Description:

I am adopted and now have a lovely new home!

I am very pleased to offer this lovely vintage CARDINAL Mah Jong game for adoption from my personal Mah Jong collection.

This lovely little game by Cardinal Products Co of New York was manufactured in the late 1940's.

The game has 152 tiles and includes 16 natural flowers - 4 sets of bouquets each numbered 1-4 so it is immediately ready for NMJL (National Mah Jong League) rules or Chinese Rules and does not need stickers adding.

There are 4 swirled Bakelite racks in kelly green, semi-translucent butterscotch, orange/red and burgundy. There are Bakelite E's on each rack. The token stops (E's) are all vintage Bakelite - there are 3 yellow tone token stops and one burgundy stop (denoting the East wind player). Plenty of tokens are included. And all the flippies are fully working.

The game comes in its original Cardinal case. The case's leather handle is in nice condition and is working and secure. The case is in great condition with relatively little scuffs.

One or two tiles have aged slightly differently on the front but are a nice match on the backs. I notice a little paint loss, particularly on the one bamboos. It's not too severe and with a little TLC can be touched up. I am guessing this was a well loved and often played with game. I strive not to break up complete games and hope someone will be able to find this a great new home!

No matter the style of game you play (Chinese or NMJL) this game is ready for play right out of the box !

REMEMBER: Despite my age I have many more years of life left in me ... I may be a little more worn than some games on this website but I know someone will still find me lovable :)
