Description:

I have been adopted and now have a new home.

This Chinese Bakelite game is called an "owl bam" because of the design of the one bamboo tiles. It is one of the rarer styles of Chinese Bakelite games and is very popular amongst collectors and players.

Chinese Bakelite is a term used to identify this style of game. These games were imported from China and are made of Bakelite - they pass the scrubbing bubbles test for Bakelite. Most of the Chinese Bakelite tiles have a sharper edge to them as this set does.

This game has 8 flowers, 2 sets of fully sequenced bouquets numbered 1-4. Please note the paint on some of the flower tiles is a little faded.

The case is original to the game and is not in perfect condition but other than missing its handle it is in pretty good shape. Both locks work well.

The racks are the original wood racks that would have come with the game. There are 5 of them. They are worn but fully functional.

The negative to this game is that two of the tiles have chips in the corner. They are an East wind and a white dragon. There is a small chip in one other tile too. I have photographed the East wind and white dragon tiles separately so you can see the extent of the damage - they appear at the end of the slide show, pictures #17 & #18.
