I am very pleased to offer this lovely vintage MET game for adoption.

MET was based in New York and was known to have manufactured 3 styles of Bakelite games. The Peacock, Parrot and Perching Pheasant. The style of game offered for adoption here is commonly referred to as the "Parrot" style game. Check out the carving of the one bamboo - it's still lovely and crisp.

The game is from the mid to late 1950's. It would have originally had 146 tiles. 144 playing tiles and two extra #5 flower tiles. Additional MET tiles have been added to this game to make it playable using NMJL rules.

There are 10 flowers/worker tiles - 2 bouquets numbered 1-5 and 4 further flower tiles numbered 1-4 plus 2 stickered tiles to be used as jokers. The bouquet of flowers numbered 1-4 could also be stickered as jokers - if you adopt this game and want extra matching joker stickers added to these 4 tiles just let me know.

The white dragons in this game are referred to as "picture" frame tiles because of their design. The red and green dragons are the traditional Chinese character designs.

The 4 racks are a delightful swirled burgundy and have matching metal E's. The case is an original suitcase style case and still has its MET manufacturer's label on the inside. The leather handle is worn and original to the case. The handle is attached well and remains secure and strong. Tokens are included with the game.

This game comes from the WBL (worn but lovable) section of my collection. The tiles are well over 60 years old and have clearly been played with - but there's quite some life still left in this game. I continue to strive to not to break up complete games and hope someone will be able to find this a great new home!

No matter the style of game you play (Chinese or NMJL) this game is ready for play right out of the box !

REMEMBER: Despite my age I have many more years of life left in me ... I may be a little more worn than some games on this website but I know someone will still find me lovable :)
